Changing start up screens is easy, but you need to take it slow and be very careful.
First up, you need to make sure you can see ".sys" type files. These are normally hidden in Windows, so that you don't accidentally move or delete them.
Click the View tab.
Uncheck "Hide file extensions for known file types"
In "Hidden files", select "Show all files".
All your computer's files are now visible. Be careful. When you have finished, you may want to return these settings to their original state.
Copy up your original files into a new folder where they can be stored in case you need to reinstall them.
Here are the start up files, their standard names & locations:
Startup Screen: C:\logo.sys
Wait Screen: C:\Windows\logow.sys
Shutdown Screen: C:\Windows\logos.sys
Check the new startup screen files are correctly named.
Copy logo.sys to C:\
Copy logow.sys and logos.sys into C:\Windows.
Restart your computer and the logos should work.
